Chinese Salad

My sister-in-law is amazing.  She is the mother to 9 kids. She runs 5 miles EVERY DAY. Her house is always immaculate. And she has a great body so much perfect which seems to have undergone a lipo procedure!   I always ask for her weight loss secrets.  I was wondering if she had considered a tummy tuck, arm, or thigh lipo, or anything like that.  I became more amazed when she revealed to me her cabbage salad keeps the pounds off.  She told me she eats this salad every day.(maybe she also took part in the cabbage soup diet years, and turned it into cabbage salad diet).  She says it keeps her regular She is right about that.  Every time I eat it, let’s just say, ‘I’m regular’.

This salad is

  • Cabbage
  • Almonds
  • Crispy won ton shells
  • Green onions
  • Dressing

If you aren’t already making your own salad dressing, start now!  Almost every dressing I look at has HFCS as the second ingredient! This is not necessary. Its cheaper and healthier to make your own. Even if you are putting a little sugar and oil, its better than HFCS and partially hydrogenated fats they add to your dressing. I like to buy the jars they sell by the salad dressings called cruets.  This makes it easy to store and shake when you are ready to pour some on your salad. This one was less than $2.00

It’s people like her that are hard to like! 🙂 Of course, she’s probably also extremely nice which makes it impossible NOT to like her! ha! I am definitely going to try this salad… it actually sounds really yummy. Thanks for the recipe!

Mmm…I love Chinese Chicken Salad – add a few mandarin oranges, some toasted sesame seeds and shredded chicken and you’ve got a winner!

Okay – I’m going through a sick ‘o’ salads phase – and I think you just put a hole in it because this looks really good! I’m going to try it. Thanks!

Just wanted to say thanks so much for the yummy salad ideas – esp. the dressings. It’s summer here in Australia so it’s great to have some new ideas to try.

We tried your Cabbage Salad for lunch today. . . . a bit modified: no fried wantons (I can live without fried things), no salt in the dressing (just because I think I’m healthier without extra salt, and we added chopped apple in the salad and some grated carrots. It was a winner! Thanks Amy. You came through for us again. Now to try that famous poppy seed dressing of yours. We purchased the cruet to shake up our homemade dressings. So now it will be a breeze.
